The City of Sarasota Parking Division operates three (3) public parking facilities that are both centrally located in downtown and easy to use.  With over 1,300 covered parking spaces please consider using either the State Street, Palm Avenue, or 2nd Street/Whole Food's parking garage when visiting downtown.  During busy periods and big events, there maybe a pay on entry charge of $5 to help defray the expenses associated with periods of high volume parking.

Parking for more than 2 hours in one of our convenient garages, rather than on street parking, will free you up from the concern about rushing dinner, shopping, or from violating the 2 hour time limit on street and receiving a parking citation.

Permits may be purchased by local employees to park and exceed the time limits, and are valid Monday - Friday from 9 a.m. until 6 p.m.

Downtown residents located within 1,000 feet may purchase an overnight residential parking permit allowing the same privileges, that includes parking overnight.

The city is exploring the use of "day" parking permits purchased either by phone or on-line which would allow users to remain longer than 4 hours in the garages.  Please stay up to date with latest news by following the Parking Division on Twitter; @srqparking.

NOTE: Overnight public parking in any city parking facility is not permitted for the general public.

PLEASE COMPLY WITH ALL POSTED SIGNS AND CITY ORDINANCES , including No Back-in parking.

The City reserves the right to activate "pay on entry", or "Special Event" parking when deemed necessary and without advance notice.

See the information below for more detail.
